2012 Beach Match Results

Saturday 18th February 2012 - Selsey East Beach - 6pm to 11pm - 12 fished

There was a distinct feeling of dejavu about this match. Just as in January the plan was to fish Gilkicker but once again the weather was against us and we returned to Selsey East Beach. We set up in the wind and rain but as we waited for the start the wind swung round behind us and died and the clouds departed to leave us with a clear and calm evening.
Unfortunately the whiting had disappeared so it was left to the rockling to decide the outcome with Rob Walker a clear winner with thirteen fish ahead of Paul Bray on nine.

Saturday 21st January 2012 - Selsey East Beach - 7pm to midnight - 12 fished

The venue was moved from Gilkicker for the opening match of the year due to the forecast for strong westerly winds. We don't normally fish the east beach over the top of the tide but the currents only made life difficult for those fishing at the most southerly end of the limits and there was plenty of action with whiting and rockling (and a BMX bike wheel impersonating a ray!) showing in good numbers.
